Your mission

Assume the leadership role in establishing and scaling a world-class manufacturing and production hub within a dynamic new European defence technology company.

As the Director of Manufacturing & Production, you will be responsible for leading the setup and implementation of a scaled production facility for our autonomous loitering munitions and long-range precision strike systems. You will oversee all aspects of the manufacturing and production lifecycle, from initial planning and product design optimisation for manufacturing, to supply chain engagement, safety protocols, quality assurance, assembly, and integration. You will serve as the line manager for the production and manufacturing function, with overall responsibility for the UK facility.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the planning, setup, and implementation of a scaled production and manufacturing facility for our products.

  • Drive product design optimisation to ensure efficient and cost-effective manufacturing processes.

  • Manage and optimise the supply chain to ensure a reliable and cost-effective flow of materials.

  • Establish and enforce rigorous safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment.

  • Implement and maintain a robust quality assurance system to ensure products meet the highest standards.

  • Oversee the assembly and integration of our products, ensuring adherence to technical specifications.

  • Provide line management and leadership to the production and manufacturing function.

  • Assume overall responsibility for the UK manufacturing facility, ensuring its efficient and effective operation.

  • Drive cross-functional collaboration to achieve production targets related to time, cost, and quality.

  • Define and implement manufacturing and production policies, processes, and procedures.

  • Collaborate deeply across the wider business to achieve common approaches and consistency, driving efficiency and optimisation across the organisation.

Qualifications
  • Extensive and demonstrable experience in manufacturing and production within a complex engineering environment.

  • Proven track record in setting up and scaling manufacturing facilities.

  • Deep understanding of supply chain management principles and practices.

  • Strong knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in manufacturing.

  • Expertise in quality assurance methodologies and systems.

  • Experience in leading and managing manufacturing teams.

  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.

  • Experience in defining and implementing manufacturing policies and procedures.

  • Defence and aerospace experience is welcomed, but we are equally keen to consider candidates with experience in automotive and other non-defence sectors where scaled production and stringent quality control are paramount.

  • Security Clearance: Must be eligible to obtain and maintain UK Security Clearance (SC minimum).
