Your mission
Support the development, integration, and operation of drone ground control stations by working hands-on with real hardware and evolving system setups, helping make them more reliable, efficient, and well-documented for operational use.
Responsibilities
  • Assemble, integrate, and optimize hardware components within drone ground control stations, including laptops, radios, networking equipment, and power components.

  • Ensure reliable and efficient interaction between all hardware and system components.

  • Design, implement, and maintain clean and robust cable management solutions.

  • Support energy and power management concepts, including battery-based systems and fallback power supply solutions.

  • Work with Linux-based systems in daily operation, configuration, and setup.

  • Perform hands-on testing, experimentation, and iterative system improvements based on customer and operational requirements.

  • Document system setups, configurations, and dependencies in a clear, structured, and maintainable manner for internal use and customer handover.

  • Support the integration of ground control stations into larger operational and customer environments.

  • Contribute to completing ground control stations in line with Bundeswehr (Bw) requirements.

Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience in a technical, mechanical, or electrotechnical field (5 years ideal; exceptional candidates considered with a minimum of 3 years).

  • Strong hands-on mentality with excellent practical problem-solving skills.

  • High adaptability and ability to work effectively in a dynamic, experimental environment with a focus on continuous improvement.

  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a small, cross-functional team and communicate clearly.

  • Ability to obtain EU/NATO security clearance.

Nice to have:

  • Knowledge of radio systems and antenna setups.

  • Experience working with Linux-based operating systems.

  • Experience repairing or working with composite, foam, or plastic structural components.

  • Experience with 3D printing.
