About Us
We’re focused on delivering deployable, high-performance systems - not future promises. In a time of rising threats, STARK is bolstering the technological edge of NATO Allies and their Partners to deter aggression and defend Europe - today.
As a Mechanical Design Intern, you will strengthen our Mechanical Design Team by taking ownership of structured, detail-oriented engineering tasks that enable our senior engineers to focus on core product development.
Your mission is to contribute directly to the further development of our UAV platforms, particularly OWE-V, by designing, modelling, and supporting the realisation of mechanical components and subsystems.
This is not a passive internship. You will work hands-on with real hardware, real prototypes, and real production workflows in a fast-paced defence environment.
Design & Prototyping
Component Design: Design parts and secondary structures for UAV systems and related operational equipment.
CAD Modeling: Create detailed 3D models, technical drawings, and assembly instructions using CATIA V5.
Prototype Manufacturing: Support the manufacturing of prototypes and mechanical components, including additive manufacturing processes.
Engineering Support & Collaboration
Team Support: Assist experienced mechanical design engineers in their day-to-day development activities.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with production and procurement teams to ensure designs are feasible, manufacturable, and aligned with material availability.
Product Development: Contribute to iterative improvements and refinements of existing UAV platforms, supporting rapid development cycles.
Experience & Education
Academic Path: Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s program in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, or a comparable technical field.
Technical Background & Skills
CAD Experience: First hands-on experience with CAD modeling tools, ideally CATIA V5.
Manufacturing Exposure: Initial exposure to additive manufacturing or prototype development, for example through student projects or engineering teams.
Technical Precision: Strong attention to detail and the ability to translate engineering requirements into clean, structured designs.
Language: High proficiency in English (C1/C2), written and spoken.
Mindset & Working Style
Hands-On Mentality: You enjoy working with real hardware and understand how design decisions impact manufacturing and performance.
Team Player: Comfortable collaborating in interdisciplinary, multinational teams.
Startup Readiness: Able to operate effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic defense-tech environment with high ownership and accountability.
